What is the WaterPro Water Leak Protection Plan℠?

Louisville Water developed the WaterPro Water Leak Protection Plan for residential customers, to provide a convenient and affordable solution to help protect you against unexpected water and wastewater charges from a qualifying leak.

Does my homeowners insurance cover this?

Most basic homeowners insurance policies do not cover excess water and wastewater charges from leaks, leaving you responsible for the high water bill. WaterPro helps fill the gap by providing you peace of mind that when you have a qualifying leak, you won’t have to worry about unexpectedly high water bills.

What charges does WaterPro cover?

With WaterPro, residential customers are covered for up to $3,000 of excess water and wastewater charges from one qualifying leak per 12-month period. Leaks can happen at any time and may remain undetected until you notice it on your water bill. For this reason, WaterPro covers the excess water charges for two consecutive billing cycles for the qualifying leak occurrence. WaterPro does not cover repair expenses.

To qualify for a credit on your water bill with WaterPro, the eligible plumbing leak must generate a minimum additional charge of at least fifty percent (50%) over the average of the past twelve (12) months’ bills, with a minimum overage of forty dollars ($40).

Where does the leak need to originate for WaterPro to cover the cost of the excess water?

WaterPro covers excess water and wastewater from qualifying leak events* such as:

• Burst or Ruptured Pipes
• Dripping/ Leaking Faucets
• Running Toilets
• Water Heaters

• Unattended Homes
• Faulty Customer Plumbing
• Irrigation Systems
• Vandalism

How do I sign up?

To enroll in the WaterPro Water Leak Protection Plan,  click the “Enroll Now” button at and follow the prompts. Or, you can call 888-977-7481 and speak with a WaterPro Customer Service Representative.

How will I be billed?

The $3 monthly charge will be added to your Louisville Water bill. We’re keeping things easy, so you don’t have to worry about yet another monthly payment. After your enrollment is complete, there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a claim.

Who is eligible for WaterPro?

Residential homeowners with a Louisville Water account who are responsible for the water and wastewater bill are eligible. Additional eligibility criteria may apply. Please refer to the Program Guidelines at for more information.

When can I make a claim?

After we process your enrollment, there is a 30-day waiting period. You can file a claim for a leak that occurs after the initial 30-day waiting period.

What is the term of my service agreement?

The plan is monthly and will remain active until cancelled by the customer or Louisville Water.

Can I sign up for WaterPro if I’m not a Louisville resident?

Unfortunately, right now we only offer WaterPro in a select market but check back soon for expanded offerings!

How do I cancel WaterPro services?

We’ll be sad to see you go! If you need to cancel WaterPro services, please login to your customer portal account and click “Cancel” to cancel your subscription, or call WaterPro at 888-977-7481.

If you are moving and have already cancelled your Louisville Water account, then your WaterPro enrollment will be automatically cancelled.
