Louisville Water developed WaterPro Water Leak Protection Plan℠ for residential customers. It is a convenient and affordable product that protects you against unexpected charges from a water leak.
As a homeowner, you are responsible for excess charges on your water and wastewater bill caused by water leaks. Most basic homeowners insurance policies do not cover excess charges from leaks on the water and wastewater bill.
WaterPro℠ covers up to $3,000 of excess water and wastewater charges from one qualifying leak in a 12-month period. The product is for residential customers and includes one leak occurrence per 12-month period. Two consecutive billing cycles are allowed for the qualifying leak occurrence. WaterPro℠ does not cover expenses for repairs. There are optional HomeServe warranty offerings that can cover those costs.
To qualify for a leak adjustment, the eligible plumbing leak must generate a minimum additional charge of at least fifty percent (50%) over the average of the past twelve (12) months’ bills, with a minimum overage of forty dollars ($40).
If you have a high water bill that’s caused by a leak from the following, WaterPro℠ may provide benefit:
- Crack or break in private plumbing
infrastructure on customer’s side
of the meter/point of responsibility
- Dripping/ Leaking Faucets
- Running Toilets/ Commodes
- Water Heaters
- Unattended Homes
- Faulty Customer Plumbing
- Irrigation Systems
To enroll for WaterPro℠, you will need an email address along with your Louisville Water account number and the name that is listed on your account. This information is found in the top right corner of your Louisville Water bill. When you have this information ready, click the “Enroll Now” button at the top of the website. Enter the requested information and then look for an email confirmation with instructions on how to login to the WaterPro portal. You can file a claim on the portal or request assistance from a Customer Service representative.
The $3 monthly charge will be added to your Louisville Water bill. We’re keeping things easy, so you don’t have to worry about yet another monthly payment. After your enrollment is complete, there is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a claim.
Residential homeowners with a Louisville Water account who are responsible for the water and wastewater bill are eligible. Additional eligibility criteria may apply. Please refer to the Program Guidelines at WaterProPlan.com for more information.
After we process your enrollment, there is a 30-day waiting period. You can file a claim for a leak that occurs after the initial 30-day waiting period.
The plan is monthly and will remain active until cancelled by the customer or Louisville Water.

If you are moving and have already cancelled your Louisville Water account, then your WaterPro℠ enrollment will be automatically cancelled.
